TeeVo Club - Here's How To Start One.

WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

In today’s world, Teens are faced with tremendous pressures with choices to make in different areas of their lives. This is particularly true for Christian Teens who have to take a stand for the gospel and make choices that are seemingly unpopular. TEEVO CLUB is an outreach club where we bring teenagers together, and it is open to members and non-members alike. Venues should be neutral to help them interact tension-free.
PURPOSE- The purpose of the TEEVO CLUB is to promote the effective use of TEEVO and give opportunity to users of TEEVO (who are also teens), to interact and share their experiences. Through this avenue, teenage Christians can win souls for Christ and influence their peers with Pastor’s messages.

STRUCTURE-

TEEVO CLUB is basically run by teenagers. The leader who is the “Commissioner” runs the club with his assistant who is the “Vice Commissioner”. The Commissioner works with his Pastor/Youth Leader (who is the originator of the club) to run the schedule for the program. The fellowship setting is semi-informal (either in a circle or in two straight rows, each row facing the other with an isle in-between). The chair should be preferably high stools
First timers should have an I.D. sticker or badge. This makes them feel welcome and help them integrate better.

A TYPICAL LAYOUT/SCHEDULE

  • A GREETER- At the venue of the meeting, there should be a greeter at the door to welcome the members and first timers as they come in.
  • GETTING TO KNOW YOU- The teenagers should get to know one another before the session starts.
  • CALL TO ORDER- The Commissioner should then call everyone to order.
  • SESSION BEGINS- The Commissioner starts the session with an opening prayer. He will then designate someone who will take praise and worship.
  • DEVOTIONAL- After the praise and worship, they read and discuss the devotional. The Youth Leader can develop a Talk Sheet based on the lesson from the day’s devotional. The talk sheet should feature “Go Deeper”. Here the Teenagers discuss the scripture(s) for the day in relation to the day’s devotional. The talk time will encourage participation from everyone.
